IDEAS, IDEAS, AND MORE IDEAS.......

So today I am super excited because I finally found some crib bedding that I actually like and that is not made in China. I too like my mother have jumped on the I hate all the cheap crap made in China bandwagon, thus have been searching high and low for bedding that was not made in China. Unfortunately for me if you want something that is quality there is a pretty price tag to go along with, I mean I found some really cute stuff but they are asking anywhere from $500-$1000. And that is just not money I have to spend, so I found some really cute stuff made in Portugal, and Italy....http://www.rhbabyandchild.com/catalog/category/products.jsp?link=FlaxStripeAnd600SateenGirlsAnd%252339%253BNurseryBedding&categoryId=rhbc_cat201197

Keep in mind we are going for simple so that is why I chose these, on top of the fact that they are not too expensive and especially because they are not made in China!! So now all I need to do is make a decision. Speaking of decisions I am thinking about doing an accent wall in the room and instead of doing wallpaper we found these great stencils that you can use to get the same effect. Question is do I want to go through all the work of stenciling the wall?

As for the mobile in the room, I had found this mobile made from wood that was swallows (http://www.thisnext.com/tag/swallow-mobile/) and I thought it would be really cool to paint them a lacquered white or bright pink or something along those lines however the mobile is no longer available so here is my next idea.....http://www.designsponge.com/2009/07/before-after-ashleys-pallet-daybed.html  paper lantern mobile well sort of more like sculpture..... I think it could be really cute depending on colors etc....
Well that's it for now, so many ideas so little time.....off to decorate :)

6.5 months and counting

It has been so long since I posted and a lot has changed one of the major changes being I am pregnant with my second baby and its a GIRL! So I thought it would be fun to document the changing of the what is now guest room into a beautiful little girl's nursery. Having been through having a boy and realizing there is nothing out there for boys, its like 75% girls section and 25% boys I am super excited to be able to enjoy the fun that is dressing up a little girl, decorating the nursery and all other things girly. So beginning the hunt for nursery ideas was easy online searching of modern girl nursery's and there is a ton of ideas out there, however when you are looking at price tags not so easy when you are shopping on a poor man's budget. So I decided maybe doing a little antique shopping and crafty ideas would get me to the perfect nursery. So I am going to start by listing a couple of rooms I thought were super cute and then we will go from there......
